Eye-Opener

It was a day like any other day for blind Bart. He had been lead to the city gate and there he would stay like some deposited package until someone came for him and lead him back home. Being blind isn’t easy now and it definitely wasn’t easy back then. We don’t know how old Bart was but if he had been blind from birth or blinded as a child it would mean a lot more than just physical act of losing his sight. It would mean that Bart would never grow up. He could not legally become a man, have a career, get married or leave home. He would always be dependent on the good will and generosity of family and strangers. He would always be a burden. There was no support group, no brail, no schooling. All Bart was qualified for was to beg and that is exactly what he was doing...and then - check out Mark 10:46-52
