Reaching New Frontiers at Celebration of Hope 2023

Silver Spring, Maryland (October 31, 2023) - Hope Channel International (HCI) recently held its annual fundraising event, Celebration of Hope, at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in Orlando, Florida, with the theme “Reaching New Frontiers.”
“Because of impact partners like you, Hope Channel has grown into 82 worldwide network channels,” HCI President Derek Morris addressed attendees in anticipation of the event. “I have no doubt you will marvel this weekend as you hear the amazing reports of what God is doing through Hope Channels around the world.”
With over 100 attendees, special guest speakers and musicians, and updates on Hope Channel’s most exciting projects around the world, the event was a success in more ways than one.
The three-day event began with a special Friday evening program. Following an introduction by President Derek Morris and President-elect Vyacheslav Demyan, guests were treated to musical performances by Neville Peter, Jeremy Morada, Charles Haughabrooks, and Denise Barclay. Pastor Derek also led a live Bible study with the Hope Sabbath School panel.
Sabbath morning began with a prayer session led by Let’s Pray’s host, Season Cromwell, before a healthy breakfast. Following more music by Friday's performers in addition to Michael Andrews, Pastor Mark Finley delivered the Sabbath sermon. After, HCI Producer Hannah Luttrell shared the life-changing impact of Hope Channel’s new show, Hope at Night, and Demyan shared his powerful testimony and vision for the future of Hope Channel.
Sabbath afternoon and evening programs included a mental health seminar by Dr. Luis Allen and a family seminar by Drs. Pamela and Claudio Consuegra. Attendees were also given an update on the Almost Home evangelistic series currently happening in Nigeria.
As is done every year, a moment of the Saturday evening program was reserved for giving out the Ambassador of Hope award, an award that acknowledges an individual(s) who has helped Hope Channel in its mission to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission. This year, the award was given to President Derek Morris and his wife, Bodil, to honor and thank them before Morris’ retirement on October 31, 2023.
Sunday morning, the event came to a close, and guests, many of whom traveled long distances to be part of this special weekend, reflected on their experience.
“I support Hope Channel because they support us. They are creating avenues and platforms so that we can spread the gospel,” said one attendee.
Hope Channel received significant and historical financial support. This record donation will enable the ministry to continue with God's help to make an impact for His kingdom.
"The 2023 Celebration of Hope was special because you could really feel how excited the attendees were as they received reports on how God is using HCI to bring people into a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ,” said HCI Director of Fundraising Ronnie Mills. “I am appreciative of their historical support which will enable this ministry to engage in current and new evangelistic initiatives."
